The Heaven's Gate cult was against suicide but they believed they had no choice and had to leave Earth as quickly as possible. After claiming that a space craft was trailing the comet Hale-Bopp, Applewhite convinced 38 followers to commit suicide so that their souls could board the supposed craft. It's not up to you as to what you can and can't do on the Sabbath. Going out to eat? Sin. Preparing your own food to eat? Sin. Driving a car to services? Sin. Watching TV? Sin. Sipping Starbucks with other Sabbath keepers? Sin.

In our modern world, keeping the sabbath holy is a no-win situation. You break it each and every week. Don't kid yourself to think that you don't.

But, you know what? I don't care. Why? Because the sabbath is no longer a yard stick or a sign for God's people. Now, if Weinland was a true Armstrong disciple, he would tell you that the Sabbath is a test for converts, that the great Babylonian European whore is going to test you to the point of death as to your obedience to keeping this 24 hour period. My guess, though, based on Weinland's almost total disregard for keeping the sabbath, is that he doesn't believe this. So, you are off the hook. I guess.Marknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1627763003344565180.post-25968914114217228182009-07-27T05:58:21.043-07:002009-07-27T05:58:21.043-07:00Gledwood,

For this reason, I went back over the blogs and found the only comments I made regarding blogging on the Sabbath.

1. July 10 ( speaking to Dill Weed) ... For now I will say goodbye until Sunday so please don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't make any comments until then.
WO: Have a great Sabbath! ( I'm not saying that you shouldn't blog during the Sabbath. This is my own preference.)

2. July 17 (speaking to WO) ...I may drop in tomorrow since "fellowship" with a believer is certainly a good thing to do on the Sabbath wouldn't you say?

That's it ... nothing about good conscience, blah, blah, blah ...

Do I think I may have been wrong to make the comment to Dill Weed before the Sabbath was over? ... possibly ... I am still trying to find balance in what I choose to do or not do on the Sabbath. My desire is to honor God, but of course, this is to be done everyday of our lives. It is a lifelong process of "working out our own salvation with fear and trembling" and our Heavenly Father lovingly corrects us when we go off course. Honestly, I was not convicted that what I did was wrong but perhaps this accusation of hypocrisy is a wake up call to rethink and pray about the situation.Observernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1627763003344565180.post-85429443664965568122009-07-27T04:22:56.684-07:002009-07-27T04:22:56.684-07:00Can you explain something to me?

I actually mentioned something about it again in an e-mail yesterday. It is not a problem. I am not hurting the Church or putting anyone in danger. The warnings before addressed these issues. If I believed I was dishonoring God I would not be reading or commenting here. I respect the elders but I fear (reverence, honor, love) God. I may be able to hide things from the elders but God is not fooled. He sees everything and He also knows my heart. And in case you want to misinterpret what I just said ... I am not trying to hide things from the elders. I would want to know if they felt that something I was doing was wrong. God puts leaders in the Church for our protection. They are not perfect but they are accountable to God for the way they do their jobs. I am also accountable to God for the things I do and say and I do not take this lightly. I have asked God to give me wisdom in this regard, to know when to speak and when to just be quiet. (I'm sure I haven't been perfect in that either.) If God convicts me that what I am doing is wrong or that it is time to stop reading and/or commenting here and on other blogs, I will obey Him.
