Telling the End From the Middle of the Beginning of the End.

So did you notice it in Ron's "Elijah to Come" post?

It was there.

A single sentence that makes it possible to predict the end from the middle of the beginning of the end.

I bet you noticed it and groaned. Strangely, it has not received much attention on Weinland mocking blogs.

Here it is: "If God changes or in any fashion alters the timing involved, then He will reveal it through His prophet."

Ron has tipped his hand openly now.

If things don't pan out by late summer 2010 or a little after... TADA! Ron will announce that God has decided to delay the Great Tribulation and all that. Maybe because of another fast or the fervent prayers of the congregation and the Two Witlesses. We are not far from this.

There it is an ugly little truth right out in the open. It is Ron's escape hatch. Sure members will be lost - and there will be a whole theological explanation to go along with this. (Total Resolve II, anyone?)

Forunately, there is ample documentation of Ron's failures. He seems to be set to go the way of Charles Taze Russell, Ellen White and others. However, it is unlikely that any substantial church will be left in his wake. They'd have to bury his books and sermons pretty deep to avoid explaining them.

My hope is that when Ron announces God has delayed the Great Tribulation again that he will lose every follower. I hope it will be clear to them that it is no longer 'just a matter of timing'. Hopefully, the curious will visit anti-Weinland sites.

My hope is that this will break permanently the after effects on former believers of the type of beliefs promoted by the Weinlands. They will be so thoroughly discredited so as to be laughed off - dismissed out of hand.

Tick Tock.

Your time runs short, Ron Weinland. Judgment day is coming.

I prefer to believe the Bible over Ron Weinland:
"When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him"

Of course, Ron doesn't *believe* the above scripture applies to him. But his followers will. Eventually.

The other thing that is important to remember is that along with being a false prophet he also preaches heresies against God as revealed through Holy Scripture. It is not uncommon to find modern day false "prophets" who are also heretics. Ron's is just another in a long string of false prophets whos foundation is not in Jesus Christ. And the further he distances himself from Jesus the stranger and loonier his teachings become. It's a toxic mix for anyone following him.

If you leave Weinland's grip, be comforted by this: "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Just what is it with insane people? They never seem to have a problem garnering some kind of following.

There has to be a name for it.

Nice catch, Dill - So Ronnie is presumptuously prophecying the possibility of a timing change - He definitely is sowing the seed with that statement - I guess he is not sure, cuz his god is not showing it to him all at once -

He has given himself licence to do anything he wants with that one.

We are coming up on the end of January annual two day fast. I wonder what he'll use his new licence for?

Ya see, it's not what Ron "said" that Ron would like you to adhere to, it's what Ron "says" that you should follow with all you heart and all your mind and of course all your money.
As soon as Ron states something it should be followed, but as soon as a little time goes by then it is not relevant any more, unless he brings it up again later. One need follow what Ron "says", not what Ron "said".

In other words "Don't do what I told you to do, do what I'm telling you to do!".

What a pin-head.
