Too Much For a Prophet to Bear?

A Prophet’s Log (Flush)
Faith Pt. 1 (Sermon Summary)
Countdown: 1034 Days
Remaining Sabbaths: 148
Fulfilled Prophecies: 0

Ron reads post about swine flu from the website.
He’s going to resurrect the specter of ideaCity, apparently, ‘what happened there’ is bothering him. He is going to publish a letter to them on the site. Hasn't he forgiven them? Is this too much for God's prophet and Witness to bear?
Will the 1st Witness prophesy? Will God's prophet reveal ‘more light’ on these End Times? Or will it be all quiet on the prophecy front, again?
Ron’s humility fetish is kicking in big-time. Some don’t like auto responses from the website. Auto responses are useful for avoiding difficult questions. Another ho-hum Two Witness sermon, God gave this to him?
That’s OK, Ron. Your expiration date is rushing toward you.
People just can’t understand the Sabbath, Passover, Blah, blah, blah, blah…. without God opening their minds. And, of course, God is only working through Ron. Blah, blah, blah, blah…. We're so special. They just can't understand. You should be greatful. If God doesn't open your mind, blah, blah, blah, blah….
A remarkable lack of prophecy or even reference to prophecy for God's End Time prophet and Spokesman Witness.
Not surprising if you've been listening, even if you haven't been listening long like myself.
Where are the millions God is calling to PKG?
Where is the 5th Thunder?
Where are the 6th and 7th Thunders, for that matter?
Where is the 2nd Trumpet?
Ron’s has set himself in a pattern of run-of-the mill, hum-drum sermons until The Last Great Day when he pulls the rug out from under his believers.
Ron acts like he is not simply repeating things that thousands of other ministers have repeated thousands of times. Quite amusing, really, for someone claiming to be God's End Time prophet and Witness of Revelation.
Remember that Simpson’s episode when the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are riding and the Simpson’s go to Hell because they were Left Below? Homer smells barbeque but there are no hot dogs. There’s German potato salad, and coleslaw with pineapple. Doh! Highway to Hell plays. I love the Simpsons.

Ron’s shelf life is growing shorter like potato salad sitting out in the sun.
What has God 'given' Ron lately? Apparently, not much.
Ron refers to the two day fast and comments that he'll speak of it on the Last Great Day. Has a two day fast post-poned Armageddon and Christ's return? Perhaps excused us from further Thunders, Trumpets or Vials?
Tick Tock.
Your time runs short, Ron Weinland. Judgment day is coming.

Hi Dill Weed. I guess you quit listening to the sermon early today since you posted an hour before it was over. That could be the reason that you could describe such a powerful sermon as ho hum and the usual blah blah blah. You may admit to not knowing the truth but I think it is apparent that you have already decided what is false even before the proof has been established. That said, I do hope that you will be able to recognize the Truth when the visible evidence is staring you in the face but until then, there is no point in trying to change your mind. You really do WANT to prove Ron to be false and so what can I say? The answer is "nothing", so that's what I'll say.

Hi Observer,

I listened to the live broadcast and actually revised my post during the last part of Ron's sermon.

You were right, it appears that I shouldn't expect much prophesying while Ron is acting in his role of a pastor. I can be rather hard headed. Please forgive.

I have already decided Ron is a false prophet and that his statements and the lack evidence or truth backing them up proves he is false. But despite that, I continue to listen and observe.

If Ron is the prophet he says he is then mighty proofs are in the near future. Despite not believing that Ron 'has the truth', I'd have to reconsider if the things he has been saying start to happen. My mind is not unchangeable.

I do find his sermons unremarkable - even when he is covering legitimate and valuable biblical topics. As you have said the Two Witnesses pastor as part of their end time role, too.

I'll continue to wait, listen and observe and comment.

Observer,

There might be a time difference, too.

Observer, why were you surfing the anti-Weinland internet during the sermon? ;)

Looking at the timestamps on the blog, they appear to be on Mountain time.

Having used Blogger, I know that the timestamp on a post is initially set to the time that you open a post and start composing it. So it looks like Dill Weed started composing the post right as the sermon started.

Yes, if you are attending a local congregation or baptized in pkg looking at these pages, especially during a sermon you will be disfellowshipped. Sounds so reasonable doesn't it? Don't believe me ask your local elder.

To set the record straight, I looked at the blog a few minutes after the sermon was over and wrote the comment a little while after that. I was going by the post time, taking into consideration a four hour time difference. I have never surfed during a sermon. I'm not very good at multitasking. :-)
I guess Dill Weed may have been composing during the last hour of the sermon. If so, I am very sorry for "jumping to conclusions."

I've asked the same question - I guess being afraid of the answer prevents them from asking.

I too, know from experience, that what you have stated above is 100% correct.

in regards to your first comment...for someone with nothing to say...you sure say a lot.! LOL

I'd like to know where the First Trumpet is.

According to 2008 GFW page 118:
"When we are told that a third of all plant life will be destroyed, that is exactly what it means."

Forget the blather about the economy and the green dollars. Where's the dead vegetation?

Kirrily: My elder is aware of the fact that I read and comment on these blogs. I actually mentioned something about it again in an e-mail yesterday. It is not a problem. I am not hurting the Church or putting anyone in danger. The warnings before addressed these issues. If I believed I was dishonoring God I would not be reading or commenting here. I respect the elders but I fear (reverence, honor, love) God. I may be able to hide things from the elders but God is not fooled. He sees everything and He also knows my heart. And in case you want to misinterpret what I just said ... I am not trying to hide things from the elders. I would want to know if they felt that something I was doing was wrong. God puts leaders in the Church for our protection. They are not perfect but they are accountable to God for the way they do their jobs. I am also accountable to God for the things I do and say and I do not take this lightly. I have asked God to give me wisdom in this regard, to know when to speak and when to just be quiet. (I'm sure I haven't been perfect in that either.) If God convicts me that what I am doing is wrong or that it is time to stop reading and/or commenting here and on other blogs, I will obey Him. God must always come first.

I understand O - I really do. Looks like PKG is divided against itself though. If you spoke to Wayne, you would get a TOTALLY different response.

Looks like many others of us here have had the same experience.

I will accept that you are the exception to the rule. :-)

Kirrily XPKG said...

BTW - I am glad that your elder let's you talk to x members like me. That's nice :-)

Again, your experience here seems to be the exception to the rule.

Mike, such a stickler for detail. : D

I wonder if any of Ron's followers picked up on that comet that smashed Jupiter and wondered if a smaller piece might be headed in our direction - like a fiery mountain?

Guilty, I was listening to Ron and blogging AND chewing gum! Ha!

Then, I drank some coffee and everything went downhill. : (

Multi-task at your own risk.

Anyone think Ron will try to redefine times on The Last Great Day?

I expect ILFPRW will produce his 51st truth on the Last Great Day.

Since I figured out his 50th truth before he announced it, I feel a challenge to duplicate the feat ;)

I'm not surprised. J Noble was liberal enough to stand as an elector for Ralph Nader in the 2004 presidential election.

Observer said...

Mike: I'm sure there is an obvious connection but it went right over my head.

Observer said...

BTW , J was not in the Church in 2004, in other words, asleep spiritually.

Mike (Don't Drink the Flavor Aid) said...

Au contraire, Observer. J Noble was involved in CoG activities enough that Norm Edwards listed him in this 2004 Directory. He was aware of HWA's admonishment to be not of this world.

And to top it all off, he was an elector for Ralph Nader!!! When the message from the pulpit was clear, that God was rooting for the Republicans even if you were not allowed to vote for one.

Observer said...

He was not a part of PKG in 2004, therefore he was spiritually asleep. The whole Laodicean church was spewed out of God's mouth. It was much later that God awakened J and I'm quite certain that he repented of all that he needed to repent of.

"You really do WANT to prove Ron to be false and so what can I say?"

Actually, he's already been proven false many times over. At least by those who are honest enough to admit it.

You know, when I was young, we had to turn the TV off on Friday nights to "remember the sabbath day to keep it holy." I'd hate for you to lose out on your salvation especially since you made it a point on mikes blog to tell everyone that you can't in good conscience post on the sabbath. Remember that?

Ah the hypocricy.

Gledwood said...

Can you explain something to me?
I've read Weinland's book "2008"...
It is now 2009. so what excuse is he saying for getting the year wrong..?

Observer said...

Mark: Hypocrisy is a strong accusation and when it is based on something so flimsy as either an out and out lie or something that perhaps, in your own mind , you really think I said, it needs to be addressed.
It really is not fair to say that I said something that most people will accept at face value and not bother checking out. For this reason, I went back over the blogs and found the only comments I made regarding blogging on the Sabbath.

1. July 10 ( speaking to Dill Weed) ... For now I will say goodbye until Sunday so please don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't make any comments until then.
WO: Have a great Sabbath! ( I'm not saying that you shouldn't blog during the Sabbath. This is my own preference.)

2. July 17 (speaking to WO) ...I may drop in tomorrow since "fellowship" with a believer is certainly a good thing to do on the Sabbath wouldn't you say?

That's it ... nothing about good conscience, blah, blah, blah ...

Do I think I may have been wrong to make the comment to Dill Weed before the Sabbath was over? ... possibly ... I am still trying to find balance in what I choose to do or not do on the Sabbath. My desire is to honor God, but of course, this is to be done everyday of our lives. It is a lifelong process of "working out our own salvation with fear and trembling" and our Heavenly Father lovingly corrects us when we go off course. Honestly, I was not convicted that what I did was wrong but perhaps this accusation of hypocrisy is a wake up call to rethink and pray about the situation.

todd said...

o,
don't forget, Jesus himself chastised the pharisees for beating others up for not keeping the sabbath....Why? because they were not able to keep the sabbath either.....

Dill Weed said...

Gledwood,

He predicts Christ returning May 2012 with the Great tribulation occurring in the 3 1/2 yrs prior to that, so NOW basicly. My post "Where Are We in Time?" attempts to sketch Ron's beliefs and overlays some common beliefs about the end times, too.

So far, it's not materializing as he has claimed - which is how it has happened for anyone who has made such predictions.

"I am still trying to find balance in what I choose to do or not do on the Sabbath"

That's the point, isn't it? It's not up to you as to what you can and can't do on the Sabbath. Going out to eat? Sin. Preparing your own food to eat? Sin. Driving a car to services? Sin. Watching TV? Sin. Sipping Starbucks with other Sabbath keepers? Sin.

In our modern world, keeping the sabbath holy is a no-win situation. You break it each and every week. Don't kid yourself to think that you don't.

But, you know what? I don't care. Why? Because the sabbath is no longer a yard stick or a sign for God's people. Now, if Weinland was a true Armstrong disciple, he would tell you that the Sabbath is a test for converts, that the great Babylonian European whore is going to test you to the point of death as to your obedience to keeping this 24 hour period. My guess, though, based on Weinland's almost total disregard for keeping the sabbath, is that he doesn't believe this. So, you are off the hook. I guess.

Observer, you would have been a good candidate for the Marshall Herff Applewhite cult.

Marshall Applewhite taped himself speaking of mass suicide and believed "it was the only way to evacuate this Earth". The Heaven's Gate cult was against suicide but they believed they had no choice and had to leave Earth as quickly as possible. After claiming that a space craft was trailing the comet Hale-Bopp, Applewhite convinced 38 followers to commit suicide so that their souls could board the supposed craft. (From Wikipedia)
